Music meets technology

Based on the publication “Objective evaluation of chamber-music halls in Europe and Japan”, KÖTTER Consulting Engineers carried out a measurement of the room acoustics in the chamber music hall Bagno, Steinfurt, on behalf of the Münsterland district association of the Association of German Engineers (VDI). After the detailed measurement of the sound propagation, the reflections in the room as well as the reverberation and decay curves, KÖTTER now certifies that Europe’s oldest free-standing concert hall has excellent acoustics on the basis of scientific calculations. In addition to the intelligent room acoustics, the elaborate stucco work and richly decorated mirrored walls create a delight for the eyes and ears – even almost 250 years after the construction of this architectural gem. Further details can be found on the Münster University of Applied Sciences website:
