Pupils from Ibbenbüren visit KCE

Every summer, a group of students from the Goethe Gymnasium Ibbenbüren, accompanied by their teachers, visit the company KÖTTER Consulting Engineers.

In order to familiarize the youth with the often complex problems in the field of sound and vibration engineering, our engineers – Dr. Ing. Patrick Tetenborg and Timm Schaer – showed experiments from the various fields of expertise. These are usually used at events or customer visits.

But no matter whether “old” or “young” – with clear effects theory and physics can not only be explained better, but also inspire people.

So the following stations were on the program:

  • Plan your wind farm
  • 3-mass oscillator
  • “Rijksche Rohr”
  • Infrasound
  • etc.

Together with the engineers’ stories about everyday applications and exciting project examples, it was intended to be an entertaining and practical “teaching unit”.

With a group photo and a common lunch the trip for the group of visitors came to an end. Maybe, the day has aroused in one or the other the interest in sound and vibrations …

The connection to the pupils is based on the commitment of the KCE founder Erwin Kötter, who is interested in the promotion of “MINT”- subjects and technical courses at the school and who helped to organize and also accompanied this visit.

We look forward to the next visit!
